AMP UP exists because its founders — competing athletes, every one of them — couldn't find performance nutrition that was actually fresh, actually clean, and actually tasted like food that they wanted to eat. So they built it.
AMP UP was co-founded by our CEO — an accomplished fitness entrepreneur, former pro-football player, and military veteran — alongside two female athletes and leading fitness industry professionals who run sales, marketing, and operations for the company to this day.
We developed our products first and foremost for ourselves — sourcing the freshest, cleanest, allergy-friendly ingredients directly from local Amish farmers in Ohio.
Most are loaded with unhealthy preservatives, turn hard over time, and lose a huge percentage of their bioavailable nutrients — because they're built to survive years on a shelf, not to fuel you.
We developed a made-to-order production process employing local Amish workers, so every product is custom blended or baked fresh with top-quality raw ingredients — maximizing nutritional value instead of shelf life.
Fresher ingredients. More bioavailable nutrition. Fuel designed by athletes to help athletes and fitness enthusiasts reach their body and performance goals faster.
Not investors who hired athletes for the label. Lifelong athletes who built the company — and still compete today.
Former college athlete, ex-Army Airborne Specialist, and 8-year NBC TV host, Todd studied sports medicine at The Ohio State University and graduated from Harvard Business School as a class leader in 2015. He's a current USA Track & Field masters athlete — still competing on the national circuit in the sprints, not watching from the stands.
As founder and CEO of Vertex Body Sciences / AMP UP Sports Nutrition, Todd led the company to #19 on Inc. Magazine's list of America's fastest-growing companies — an honor shared with Under Armour, Uber, Quest Nutrition, and PowerBar. Over his coaching career he has trained hundreds of NFL, MLB, and USTA pro athletes, Victoria's Secret and Ford models, and first-time competitors — many winning their very first event.
Former Ms. Fitness U.S.A. 3rd-place winner, fitness magazine model, and sideline reporter for the NFL's Miami Dolphins, Melinda has lived the transformation AMP UP promises — she lost 65 lbs to become a fitness competitor and hasn't stopped competing since. She studied exercise science at the University of North Carolina and holds wins across track, powerlifting, and fitness competition at the national level, including multiple event victories at USATF Masters National Championships competing under the AMP UP Sports banner.
Melinda is the COO driving AMP UP's operations, with over 15 years developing first-time competitors in fitness, figure, and endurance events — and a verified track record of getting them to the podium on their first attempt.
An Ohio Wesleyan graduate in sports psychology, Brittany leads brand and marketing for AMP UP and co-hosts the nationally syndicated CNBC Radio show "Makin' It." Her athletic career spans three disciplines — and that arc is the origin story of why she helped build a nutrition company.
A decade of elite-level gymnastics training built the movement foundation. When injury forced a transition, she moved into powerlifting and didn't just compete — she dominated. At the NASA Ohio State Powerlifting Championships, Brittany won 1st place across every division category she entered, set a national record in the deadlift, earned NASA Athlete of the Year, and took the overall meet title with the highest Dots coefficient of any competitor — regardless of gender or weight class. That last distinction is the one that matters most: pound for pound, she was the strongest person in the building.
She's since transitioned to USA Track & Field, where she's ranked top 10 nationally across multiple sprint and field events. The 2025 season included national championship podium finishes in the 100m (3rd), 200m (2nd), and Long Jump (3rd) at the USATF Masters Outdoor National Championships in Huntsville, AL — competing under the AMP UP Sports banner. With 15+ years as a celebrity personal trainer, she has coached Army Special Forces soldiers, gymnasts, figure competitors, and powerlifters to their own podium finishes.
